Book a ceremony

You can book your marriage or civil partnership ceremony in three ways:

  • at a church or religious building
  • at a register office
  • at an approved venue

To get married in a church or other religious building, you need to contact the person in charge. The government website provides further information on religious marriages.

To get married at the register office, book a ceremony with us.

To get married at an approved venue you need to contact the venue first and agree a provisional date. Once you have a date, you then need to book a ceremony with us.

Our registrars are available to conduct your ceremony at the register office or an approved venue, including outdoor ceremonies.

Email registrars@iow.gov.uk to book a ceremony with us.

For all marriage or civil partnerships, once a date has been agreed you are required to give notice.

How much does a ceremony cost?

  • fees are reviewed annually
  • statutory fees are subject to a review each April
