- Community Services Enforcement Policy 2025-2030 (PDF, 227KB ) - This policy applies to all the legislation enforced by officers with delegated enforcement powers employed by the Isle of Wight Council.
- Policy on the Relevance of Convictions (PDF153KB) - This policy has been adopted after considering the provisions of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 (LGMPA), and the Public Health Acts Amendment Act 1907, which provide us with the powers to carry out licensing functions in respect of Hackney Carriage and Private Hire vehicles, drivers and operators, and persons in charge of, or navigating licensed pleasure boats.
- Licensing Act 2003 (PDF, 536KB) - The current statement of licensing policy was adopted by us on January 2024. This policy will be used by the licensing authority to assist them in the determination of licensing applications, variations and reviews made under the Licensing Act 2003.
- Gambling Act 2005 (PDF, 386KB) - The current statement of licensing principles was adopted by us in July 2025. This document sets out our policy in respect of its licensing functions under the Gambling Act 2005. The policy will be reviewed every three years.
- Street Trading (PDF, 186KB) - The Street Trading Licensing Policy 2021 to 2026 (Street Trading Consents) was adopted by our Licensing Committee at a meeting held on 13 January 2022. The policy will be used by the licensing authority to assist it in the determination of applications for a street trading consent.
- Street Furniture and Pavement Licensing Policy (PDF, 661KB) - This policy has been written after considering the provisions of the Highways Act 1980 (section 115), which provides us with the powers to carry out licensing functions in respect of those who wish to place tables and chairs and other objects on the highway.
- Street Collections (PDF, 81KB) - The Street Collections Policy was adopted by our Public Protection Committee at a meeting held on 7 August 1997. The policy will be used by the licensing authority in determining whether to grant a street collection permit.
- Sex Establishment (PDF, 654KB) - The Sex Establishment Policy was adopted by the Licensing and General Purposes Committee at a meeting held on 17 July 2024. The policy will be used by the licensing authority to assist in the determination of applications for a sex establishment.
- Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy (PDF, 369KB) - This policy has been written after considering the provisions of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 (LGMPA), which provides us with the powers to carry out licensing functions in respect of Hackney Carriage and Private Hire vehicles, drivers and operators.
