Take Part in Local, Regional and National Surveys

This page shares surveys that ask for your views on important topics in your area and across the country. These surveys help the Council and other public organisations understand what people think, so they can make better decisions. By taking part, you help shape the services, policies, and changes that affect you and your community.

Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) Survey

From 30 June to 27 July 2025, residents across Hampshire, Southampton, Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight are invited to take part in the Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) public engagement survey.

Twelve councils, including the Isle of Wight Council, are working together to propose new, simplified structures for delivering local services. The LGR survey is your opportunity to share your views on how local government should be structured to better serve your community.

All proposed options include the Isle of Wight remaining a standalone unitary authority, ensuring its unique identity and needs are preserved.

Why This Matters

LGR aims to streamline local government by replacing the current two-tier system with more efficient, single-tier unitary councils. Your feedback will help shape the final proposals submitted to the Government in September 2025.

Make Your Voice Count

Your input is vital to ensure that future councils reflect the priorities, identity, and needs of local communities. Take the LGR Survey and help shape the future of local services in your area.
