Take Part in Local, Regional and National Surveys
This page shares surveys that ask for your views on important topics in your area and across the country. These surveys help the Council and other public organisations understand what people think, so they can make better decisions. By taking part, you help shape the services, policies, and changes that affect you and your community.
Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) Survey - now closed
Councils across Hampshire, Portsmouth, Southampton, and the Isle of Wight have been working together on Local Government Reorganisation (LGR). As part of this process, a region-wide survey was launched to gather views on community identity and the future of local government.
The survey, which followed the submission of an interim plan for change earlier this year, explored proposals including the potential creation of four new unitary authorities on the mainland. Under these proposals, the Isle of Wight would remain a unitary authority, continuing to deliver all local services directly.
The survey opened on 30 June and closed on 27 July 2025.
Thank you to everyone who took part and shared their views.
