Waste and recycling collections

Collection crews will collect waste and recycling on Saturday 19 February that would have been collected on Friday.

Please set waste and recycling out at 7am.  

This will include household, bulky and reuse collections, schools collection and trade waste collection.

Household waste and recycling centres and commercial waste and recycling centre (Lynbottom)

The site is open as usual on Saturday 19 February.

Residents with bookings for Friday 18 February, may use their booking reference number to visit on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 February. Visits can be made at any time over the day, and to ease congestion the site will open between 9-10am and 6-7pm for only those who missed booking on Friday 18 February.

Highways

Island Roads anticipate Storm Eunice to cause disruption to the Island’s road network on Friday 18 February, with fallen trees and debris on the highway extremely likely. Updates about highway impacts are available on the Island Roads website.

Floating bridge

Update 4pm - Saturday 19 February

The floating bridge is back in service following earlier poor weather and difficult tidal conditions.

Please note that strong winds and a high tide may cause further disruption to the service on Saturday 19 February.

Passengers are advised to check the floating bridge website or call the office on (01983) 293041 between 8.30am and 5pm on Saturday for further information.

Crematorium

Unfortunately, parts of the Crematorium grounds will have restricted access over the weekend (19-20 February) due to some fallen trees. We'll work to clear these as soon as possible.
