Find the giant deck chairs competition

Isle of Wight Council has teamed up with cashless parking payment provider PayByPhone to offer residents and visitors the chance to win some fabulous prizes this summer.

Three giant deck chairs have been placed in some of the island’s most popular locations. To be in with a chance of winning a prize, people simply have to download the PayByPhone parking app and start a free parking session with the special location number printed on the chair’s sling.

Councillor Phil Jordan, council Cabinet lead for infrastructure and transport, said: “We are revisiting this really popular competition that we ran with PayByPhone in 2019. It created a great buzz with many residents and visitors posting selfies with the giant deck chairs on social media.

“As this is the summer of the staycation, we are expecting many more visitors to the island, so we have even more prizes up for grabs with PayByPhone. We’d also love to see your selfies with the chairs so make sure to share to our Facebook - @isleofwightcouncil and our Instagram - @iowcouncil when you post, using the hashtag #deckchairselfie!”

The chairs can be found at Yaverland car park, Shanklin Esplanade and North Walk, Ryde Beach and the prizes are:

• A Robin Hill gift voucher worth £150
• A two-ports cruise of Cowes and Portsmouth, donated by Solent and Wightline Cruises
• A Tapnell Farm gift voucher worth £50

Terms and conditions for entering the competition can be found at www.PayByPhone.co.uk/PBPSummer.
