Training, Support and Guidance
The Isle of Wight Council uses a range of external training providers to support individuals as they work through their apprenticeship. These include:
- Isle of Wight College.
- Chichester College.
- HTP College.
- Care Learning Centre.
As part of your apprenticeship you will spend 20% of your working week being trained by a selected provider for the duration of the apprenticeship. This is known as off the job training.
As well as the off the job training you will also have access to internal learning opportunities to further develop your skills, you will learn about this as part of your induction. You will gain an understanding of how the Isle of Wight Council operates, health and safety, desktop ICT skills, equality and diversity and much more.
Additional guidance will be provided as part of your apprenticeship employment through your line manager who will support and mentor you alongside colleagues that you will be working with.
