Details of all known Parish and Town Council Vacancies will be posted here. They are posted as and when the Proper Officer is notified of them. Updates to original postings will be added below the original post. The details will be removed after six months.

Arreton Parish Council

6 February 2024: A vacancy has occurred in Arreton Parish Council.

26 February 2024: The Proper Officer did not receive sufficient requests for a by-election to be held. The Parish Council will fill the vacancy by co-option.

Brading Town Council

22 March 2024: A vacancy has occurred in Brading Town Council.

16 April 2024: The Proper Officer did not receive sufficient requests for a by-election to be held. The Town Council will fill the vacancy by co-option.

Calbourne Newtown and Porchfield Parish Council

18 April 2024: A vacancy has occurred in the Porchfield Ward of Calbourne Newtown and Porchfield Parish Council.

The last date for ten local government electors for the Town to give Notice in writing that they wish the vacancy to be filled by means of an election is Thursday 9 May 2024.

If the required number of requests are not received, then the Parish Council will proceed to fill the vacancy by means of co-option.

Chillerton and Gatcombe Parish Council

01 December 2023: A vacancy has occurred in Chillerton and Gatcombe Parish Council

22 December 2023: The Proper Officer did not receive sufficient requests for a by-election to be held. The Parish Council will fill the vacancy by co-option.

13 February 2024: A vacancy has occurred in Chillerton and Gatcombe Parish Council

05 March 2024: The Proper Officer did not receive sufficient requests for a by-election to be held. The Parish Council will fill the vacancy by co-option.

Cowes Town Council

21 November 2023: A vacancy has occurred in the Cowes North ward of Cowes Town Council.

12 December 2023: The Proper Officer has received the required number of requests for the vacancy to be filled by means of a by-election.

16 February 2024: The election was contested and the poll was taken on Thursday 15 February 2024.

22 November 2023: A vacancy has occurred in the Cowes Medina ward of Cowes Town Council.

13 December 2023: The Proper Officer did not receive sufficient requests for a by-election to be held. The Parish Council will fill the vacancy by co-option.

East Cowes Town Council

16 February 2024: A vacancy has occurred in the North ward of East Cowes Town Council.

08 March 2024: The Proper Officer did not receive sufficient requests for a by-election to be held. The Parish Council will fill the vacancy by co-option.

Godshill Parish Council

25 March 2024: A vacancy has occurred in Godshill Parish Council.

17 April 2024: The Proper Officer did not receive sufficient requests for a by-election to be held. The Parish Council will fill the vacancy by co-option.

Lake Parish Council

2 February 2024: A vacancy has occurred in the North ward of Lake Parish Council.

23 February 2024: The Proper Officer did not receive sufficient requests for a by-election to be held. The Parish Council will fill the vacancy by co-option.

Ryde Town Council

18 January 2024: A vacancy has occurred in the Appley and Elmfield ward of Ryde Town Council.

5 February 2024: The Proper Officer has received the required number of requests for the vacancy to be filled by means of a by-election.

23 February 2024: The election is contested and the poll will be taken on Thursday 21 March 2024.

Whippingham Parish Council

13 December 2023: A vacancy has occurred in the Whippingham North ward of Whippingham Parish Council.

8 January 2024: The Proper Officer did not receive sufficient requests for a by-election to be held. The Parish Council will fill the vacancy by co-option

Wootton Bridge Parish Council

29 November 2023: A vacancy has occurred on Wootton Bridge Parish Council.

20 December 2023: The Proper Officer did not receive sufficient requests for a by-election to be held. The Parish Council will fill the vacancy by co-option

9 January 2024: The Proper Officer did not receive sufficient requests for a by-election to be held. The Parish Council will fill the vacancy by co-option.

19 April 2024: Three vacancies have occurred in Wootton Bridge Parish Council.
