A vacancy has arisen in the ICT Infrastructure team.  As an ICT Systems Engineer you will be a member of a hardworking, busy team supporting all departments across the council. 

You will help provide a high quality Infrastructure service within the ICT Operations Department ensuring all customer requests, projects, incidents and problems are captured and progressed swiftly in such a way as to deliver robust, reliable and cost effective ICT which meets customer needs and expectations as agreed in all corporate Service Level Agreements (SLA’s). Your work will be varied but the essential skills and experience required for the role includes, but is not limited to, the installation, configuration, support and administration of computer based servers, backup systems and storage area networks such as Microsoft Server, VMWare ESXi, VMWare Horizon View, IBM Lenovo X-Series servers, IBM Spectrum Protect and IBM SAN’s.

Practical knowledge of network infrastructure and protocols, a systematic, logical approach to problem solving and substantial experience of implementing high quality, customer focused Infrastructure services are essential. As part of the career grade the role will include technical training in Oracle database installation, configuration, support and maintenance.  Attending the courses, passing relevant certifications and performance evaluations are a requirement for progression through the career grade. This is a challenging but highly rewarding role that would suit a highly motivated, committed and versatile individual who will become fully integrated into the current team.  As a systematic, disciplined and analytical problem solver, you will demonstrate a proactive approach, the ability to prioritise your workload within demanding schedules, excellent communication skills and the ability to take ownership.
