We continue to work in partnership with Hampshire County Council whom Ofsted has rated as OUTSTANDING across all areas. We are now recruiting social workers to help us work towards achieving our ambition of also being an outstanding service for children and families on the Isle of Wight. You will join either one of our Child Assessment and Safeguarding Teams. These teams combine the functions of referral and assessment with children in need to reduce transition points for children. Or our fostering team undertaking foster carer assessments or our Children in Care Team.

We have embarked upon a significant two-year investment programme of social work transformation. Building on our successful Family Intervention Team approach, we have recruited two children's mental health and emotional well-being professionals to work with our social workers.

These professionals will join our adult mental health worker and adult substance misuse workers who work with the adults in the family alongside you as the child’s social worker.

You will also have support from a Social Worker Personal Assistant who will provide you with dedicated business administrative support plus you will have mobile working technology to enable flexible working. Our focus is on safeguarding children, whilst recognising strengths and building resilience within individuals, families and local communities.

We have invested heavily in continuing professional development across our workforce ensuring that we support colleagues to deliver evidence-based best practice through our active membership of Research in Practice. You will have access to extensive quality training and professional development opportunities. You will also have an additional five days free to dedicate to your continuing professional development. The management reporting line for this role is ultimately through Hampshire County Council Children's Services Director/Assistant Director and managers who take operational responsibility for children's services.
