Hours: 37 per week (Term Time Only) 

 

We are seeking to employ two Education and Inclusion Assistants to work within the Education and Inclusion Service to enable the Local Authority to discharge its statutory duties in relation to school attendance, children missing in education and exclusions.

 

The post holder will be expected to:

To enable the Local Authority to discharge its statutory duties in relation to school attendance, children missing in education and exclusions

To contribute to safeguarding processes as appropriate 

To contribute to the development of the Education and Inclusion Service

The successful applicant will have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels with the public, staff and other agencies on sensitive and complex issues.  The post will include both face to face and telephone contact with service users.

 

Candidates must have four GCSEs Grade A – C (or equivalent) including Maths and English and it is desirable that you have professional qualification in a related field and experience of working with the general public.

 

You need to be flexible; able to work under pressure and the ability to work to tight deadlines is also essential. You will also be self-motivated, have good communication and people skills.

 

The successful applicant must hold a full driver’s license and have use of a car for work as you will be expected to travel across the island.
